Tutors typically focus on specific subject matter and assist in the remediation of academic difficulties such as reviewing concepts, working through problems, and helping students gain mastery in key areas. Academic coaches serve in a more comprehensive and collaborative role, helping students develop learning goals, teaching strategies, and study skills that help them excel academically. Academic coaches might also help students with organization, time management, study habits, stress reduction, and motivation. They focus on the student's overall success and development, rather than just specific subject matter.

The duration of a coaching program varies depending on the individual needs and goals of the student. Some students may only need a few sessions to address specific challenges or goals, while others may require ongoing support throughout their academic journey. Ultimately, the length of time a student works with an academic coach should be determined collaboratively between the student, the coach, and any other relevant parties, such as parents or teachers. 

At this time, OWELLA Learning does not offer subject-area tutoring (i.e., math, science, English, history). However, this is a service that we may offer in the future.

OWELLA Learning coaches have advanced degrees in Education or a related field.  All coaches are highly qualified and have experience working with a diverse group of students.
